  Features: Rode NT2-A
Professional Multi Pattern Studio Condenser Microphone.

The new NT2-A is a professional large capsule (1?) condenser studio microphone with variable pick-up pattern, variable high pass filter and variable pad.
These features provide greater creative control and versatility.
Three 3-position switches located on the mic body provide the freedom to step from Figure 8, Cardioid or Omni polar pick-up patterns; from a flat response to either 80 Hz or 40 Hz high-pass filter and a Pad adjustment of 0 dB, -5 dB or -10 dB attenuation.
The heart of the NT2-A is the Australian designed and manufactured TYPE HF1 dual diaphragm capsule. The frequency and transient response of this new transducer has been voiced to complement today's modern recording techniques, and yet still evoke the silky smooth character of the legendary microphones of the 50's and 60's. The NT2-A includes a soft pouch and clip.

RODE NT2-A features
The Australian designed and manufactured HF1 1? edge terminated, gold sputtered, dual 5 um diaphragm capsule
3-position variable polar pattern: Omni, Cardioid & Figure 8; all controlled on the mic
3-position variable high-pass filter: Flat, 80 Hz or 40 Hz
3-position variable pad: 0 dB, -5 dB or -10 dB
Ultra low noise, transformerless SMT circuitry
Wide dynamic range
High strength heat-treated steel mesh head
Durable satin nickel finish
Internal capsule shock mounting
Supplied complete with soft pouch and clip
Designed and manufactured in Sydney, Australia

Power
The NT2-A is designed to operate from phantom power to the P48 standard.
The NT2-A will operate between 44V and 52V applied with positive polarity to pin 2 and pin 3 of the output XLR connector.

Output Impedance
The NT2-A will operate satisfactorily into a load impedance as low as 1 kΩ. If a load below this is used, the output signal level will be reduced.
The NT2-A output is balanced between pin 2 (hot) and pin 3 (cold). Pin 1 is ground.

Freedman Electronics and the birth of RØDE
RØDE Microphones evolved from the Freedman Group of Companies, established in 1967 by Henry and Astrid Freedman, after immigrating to Australia from Sweden. Freedman Electronics was a pioneer in the Australian audio industry for the design, manufacture, installation and servicing of a diverse range of audio products. Loudspeakers, amplifiers, custom electronics and microphones were all a part of the company's expertise; all of which took place within the confines of the small but unique Australian market.
Ongoing microphone research and development within Freedman Electronics, both in the laboratory and in the field, would later drive the ambition to design and produce superior microphone products.
In 1990, the decision was made to produce and market the first RØDE microphone.

The early days of RØDE
Before the explosion of the home recording market, there were very few established and respected manufacturers of professional recording quality (condenser) microphones. Those previous 'market-leaders' produced premium product that also carried a premium price.
Why were they so expensive? Well, the market at that time was small and considerable investment had to be recouped from a limited customer base.
RØDE's early manufacturing coincided with the emergence of the much larger home recording and project studio markets. The company was aware that by using the latest technologies, and the best design and engineering staff, production quantities could be produced which would achieve previously unheard of economies of scale resulting in better microphones for your dollar.

One of the world's leading microphone manufacturers
In 1998, having established itself as a leading force in this emerging market, RØDE Microphones moved into a new purpose-built 20,000 sq ft factory and offices near the home of Sydney 2000 Olympics.
The premises allowed for the necessary increases in electronic production, assembly, warehousing, dispatch and administration, to supply the growing worldwide demand.
A separate dedicated metalwork facility located 250 km north west of Sydney, is equipped with the latest computer controlled machinery, producing microphone bodies and associated fittings and componentry to the highest international standards.
RØDE Microphones is committed to providing our customers with products that represent the ultimate in value, performance and user satisfaction.
We achieve this through our ongoing investment in research and development, the use of the latest manufacturing technologies to improving the quality, performance and production efficiencies. But most importantly we listen to people who use microphones.
Furthermore we will continue to provide the best after-sales service, as we realise that when a person invests in our microphones it is the beginning of a relationship which we hope will last a lifetime.
